My name is David Freake, I’m 29 years old and reside in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. I work as an account manager and sales rep for a pharmaceutical company. I’m a distance runner for Brooks with the aspirations of representing Canada in international competitions.
I hold a bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as a Masters degree in Healthcare Management.
I’ve been very active for as long as I can remember. I was a hockey player for the majority of my life and pursued that dream all the way through the Major Jr. ranks in Canada. I then took up running when I was completing my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry.
I can’t imagine my life without fitness or sports. I hope to be an example for others that a healthy lifestyle is something you don’t just start and stop. It’s a lifetime endeavor that can bring joy, friendships, health and happiness into your life.
My main goal is to represent myself, my family and friends to the best of my ability and to one day represent my country at an international competition.
How I Stay Motivated
When I find it hard to get out the door in the morning for a hard training session or an afternoon double, I think about the competitors I’m going to be lining up with when race day comes.
In that moment I know that if I’m not training, they are, and it will be evident on race day. This fuels and drives me to get the best out of myself and my body every single day.

I also love the new LeanFit All-in-One. When I’m traveling to races or for work I keep the individual packs with me at all times in case I’m stuck without food.
Why I use LeanFit:
I use the LeanFit products to help me meet my nutritional requirements due to the demands of my training and busy lifestyle.
When I’m running between 200-230 km/week my body needs to be fueled with a balance of wholesome nutrient dense foods, but I also need a lot of extra protein to supply my body with the building blocks to repair the muscle tissue I’m breaking down during my intense sessions and races.
